Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q. Do I need to trim my wick when I receive my candle?
  • A. No. You will receive your candle ready to light out of the box. However, please refer to our Candle Care page for proper instructions on how to care for your candle.

  • Q. Why does my candle top look like cauliflower after it has been lit?
  • A. This is totally normal for 100% soy candles, and your candle will perform fine once relit.

  • Q. How long should I burn my candle for?
  • A. You should burn your candle for no more than 4 hours at a time, or until the candle has reached a full melt pool.

  • Q. Why is my candle starting to tunnel?
  • A. This is caused by not allowing the candle to reach a full melt pool when lit. These candles are designed to burn 3-4 hours at a time. It is important to commit to that amount of time when lighting your candle.

  • Q. What is that black ball I see at the top of the wick?
  • A. This is totally normal, and is called carbon. You can use this as a reference when trimming your wick prior to lighting. Simply cut just below the little ball of carbon and you’re all set.

  • Q. Where are these candles made?
  • A. Every candle and wax melt on our website is hand made in North Carolina. You’re buying a product made in the U.S.A. with American materials. Not only are you literally supporting a family, but you are helping to keep the U.S. dollar in America!
