Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Do I need to trim my wick when I receive my candle?
A. No. You will receive your candle ready to light out of the box. However, please refer to our Candle Care page for proper instructions on how to care for your candle.
Q. Why does my candle top look like cauliflower after it has been lit?
A. This is totally normal for 100% soy candles, and your candle will perform fine once relit.
Q. How long should I burn my candle for?
A. You should burn your candle for no more than 4 hours at a time, or until the candle has reached a full melt pool.
Q. Why is my candle starting to tunnel?
A. This is caused by not allowing the candle to reach a full melt pool when lit. These candles are designed to burn 3-4 hours at a time. It is important to commit to that amount of time when lighting your candle.
Q. What is that black ball I see at the top of the wick?
A. This is totally normal, and is called carbon. You can use this as a reference when trimming your wick prior to lighting. Simply cut just below the little ball of carbon and you’re all set.
Q. Where are these candles made?
A. Every product on our website is hand made in North Carolina. You’re buying a product made in the U.S.A. with American materials. Not only are you literally supporting a family, but you are helping to keep the U.S. Dollar in America!
